Abstract
The role and position of the state in various dimensions of development is one of the most important intellectual concerns of contemporary government officials, so that it is very important for thinkers and even the general public. Therefore, in the present article, the most important goals are: a comparative study of the role of government in economic development between Iran and Malaysia. Includes. Findings of the article show: The Islamic Republic of Iran during the Hashemi Rafsanjani period (1989-1997) with emphasis on open economic policy and implementation of the first 5-year development plan, considered more economic development of the country and Seyed Mohammad Khatami (2005-2009) relied on He focused more on political and civic development on expanding relations with foreign countries.During the Mahathir Mohamad era, Malaysia developed Malaysia by relying on a policy of attitude toward the East and following the example of Japan and South Korea, creating a legitimate bureaucratic power, and cabinets of political, economic, and social experts and scholars. In the development programs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, relying on Islamic teachings and characteristics such as efforts to achieve social justice, sustainable economic growth and development, technological capabilities, creating competitive advantages, diversification of industrial exports and There are many such cases.However, due to the lack of attention to the country's industrial strategy, lack of identification of preferred industries, ambiguity and unpredictability of the link between firms and the formation of industrial clusters, codified programs have so far failed to succeed in implementation.
